Restylane^®

Restylane® is a clear synthetic gel made from hyaluronic acid, which is a natural substance found in the body. Restylane carries little risk of allergic reaction, and is used to smooth out wrinkles, sculpt lips and shape facial contours. Common areas for treatment include the glabellar lines (between eyebrows) and the nasolabial folds (from the root of the nose to the angle of the mouth). Restylane has a unique ability to bind with water, and remains in the skin for many months.

Juvéderm^„¢

Juvéderm„¢ is an injectable gel that gently reverses signs of aging in the face, including facial wrinkles, crow’s feet, thinning lips and loosening skin. It is also used to “plump up” the lips, sculpt cheeks, and render a youthful oval shape to the face. It is non-animal-based and highly biocompatible, so no pre-treatment testing is required. Results can last from 6-9 months, and even longer with a simple follow-up treatment after the initial injection.

Perlane^®

Perlane® is an injectable filler used to treat deep facial lines, augment the lips, and contour the cheeks and chin. It is made by the same company that produces Restylane®, and contains purified hyaluronic acid, a sugar found naturally in the body that works with collagen to keep the skin smooth and supple. Being hypoallergenic, it does not require a pre-treatment skin test. It has a unique ability to bind with water, and performs up to 60% longer than collagen.

Hylaform

Hylaform, derived from rooster combs, is used to fill deeper wrinkles around the nose and mouth. Results can last up to six months for moderate-to-severe wrinkles.

Fat Transfer

Fat Transfer involves fat injections (of the patient's own fat cells) on people with facial contour defects who have lost fat and overall volume, and want to use a longer lasting filler that is 100% natural and allergy-free.

Duration

Ranges from 10 to 20 minutes per session, depending on the areas being treated.

Side Effects

Before receiving treatment, you may need to undergo a skin test to help prevent complications. Common side effects could include allergic reaction, bruising at injection site, temporary redness, numbness, swelling, pain, tenderness or discoloration.

Recovery

Soft tissue fillers require minimal downtime and allow you to return to work and your normal activities directly after treatment. However, you may be asked to refrain from strenuous physical activities and excessive exposure to sun or heat for up to 24 hours after treatment.

Risks

Potential risks associated with some soft tissue fillers include lumps, also known as granulomas or nodules.

Results

The results of most soft tissue fillers are temporary, lasting from a few months to about a year. Additional treatment sessions are encouraged for optimal results.
